Everybody is constantly hearing about data these days. But it isn’t just a talking point – data is at the center of the IT industry. By definition, data is collection of raw information.
There is a limitless amount of data which could be collected, but with a particular project in mind there is some data which is more useful to collect and analyze. Data collected to this end must be secure and facilitate the growth and success of the project.
The answer is Data Analytics. Data analytics is a solution that allows a person to organize and view data in a way that conveys helpful information. For access to the information there are different levels of clearance, as the leadership team of a company can use strategic information to enhance productivity and business. To do this an analytical tool is needed.
My name is Suganesh, and I am the business intelligence in Genix Technologies. I want to share our experience in choosing an analytical tool for our healthcare product.
Our company provides Healthcare IT services and solutions to clients. We had a need for an analytical tool to integrate into our product. Ideally, we were looking for a solution that would be easy to embed in web application with data security, aesthetically pleasing, and affordable. After analyzing several cost-prohibitive tools like PowerBI, SSRS, etc., we found the wonderful tool called Metabase.
An open-source business intelligence tool. Metabase is an easy way to generate charts and dashboards, ask simple ad hoc queries without using SQL, and see detailed information about rows in your Database. You can set it up in under 5 minutes, and then give yourself and others a place to ask simple questions and understand the data your application is generating.
Metabase is open source, so completely free. Additionally, we can easily customize the application how we want using codes available in GitHub.
The only maintenance cost would be data storage, as Metabase is supported or configured in the AWS elastic beanstalk.
It will be easy to embed the report in the application within a few minutes, using the Question and Dashboard IDs.
MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, andAmazon Redshiftare some of the popular tools that integrate with Metabase. We can write our own SQL queries using the native query mode, or we can use the stored procedure to generate complex reports.
The reports and dashboards produced using this tool are attractive and dynamic.
A few metabase reports from our product:
Using Metabase, we have generated many reports and dashboard widgets. It has been running successfully and our client is satisfied.
Genix has wide experience in using this tool for reporting services. If you are looking to use this wonderful tool, please let us know!
